Major Logistics Break Through

Published: 29/11/2017

A major inland port and freight hub is being developed on the Hume Motorway at Tarcutta, NSW, the epicenter of road freight logistics in Australia. HUME TRANSPORT HUB is set to become an integral part of Australia’s supply chain.

Its unique location has strategic significance, enabling the transport industry substantial operational and capital cost savings and other logistical advantages including safety, C.O.R. and productivity improvements.

HUME TRANSPORT HUB will provide industrial, commercial and hospitality amenities dedicated to the road freight industry.

This major industrial facility will enable a paradigm shift in logistics by facilitating two-shifts, per vehicle, per day.

Located on the Hume Motorway at Tarcutta, NSW, HUME TRANSPORT HUB is half-way between Sydney and Melbourne, and has close access to the Sturt and Newell Highways for convenient distribution to SA, WA, QLD and NT.

Here are some facts:
• 60% of Australia’s population (14.2 million) live within a 500 kilometre radius of this facility
• It is the busiest inter-capital, road-freight location in Australia (by traffic and by volume)
• It is close to infrastructure including: regional cities of Albury and Wagga Wagga, airports, rail, labour resources, manufacturing facilities and is within the Riverina region, Australia’s food bowl
• Direct access to the Hume Motorway, which runs through this site
• The property is close to rail facilities for inter-modal and container exchanges
• Potential for +200,000 SM (+2,200,000 SF) of industrial buildings
• Suitable for Distribution Centres and warehousing facilities

The development will include a “guaranteed change-over” facility, enabling two-shift logistics between Sydney and Melbourne, providing primary-source senders and transport operators with significant cost savings
