ATO - Business Providing Road Freight Services -Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR)

Published: 18/03/2020
ATO Reminds  Businesses Providing Road Freight Services -Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) due 28th August 2020

The taxable payments reporting system (TPRS) was first introduced in 2012 to strengthen detection of those gaining an unfair advantage by not reporting or under-reporting their income and to protect the majority of people who are doing the right thing.

From 1 July 2018 the TPRS has applied to businesses providing courier and road freight services, even if courier or road freight services are only part of a business’s activities.

Businesses providing courier or road freight services are reminded they will need to complete a Taxable payments annual report (TPAR) if they have an Australian business number (ABN), and make any payments to contractors for courier or road freight services they provide on a business’s behalf.

The next report for businesses providing courier or road freight services is due on 28 August 2020.

Can you help spread the word?

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has contracted us, Fenton Communications, to raise awareness of the TPRS and the need for businesses providing courier or road freight services to lodge a TPAR by 28 August 2020.

You can help by informing your members about the TPRS over the coming months.
