"Australia-ASEAN: New Normal for the Visitor Economy Supply Chain" webinar series

We are pleased to invite you to the "Australia-ASEAN: New Normal for the Visitor Economy Supply Chain" webinar series: Webinar 1 How has the visitor economy supply chain been impacted by COVID-19? 

 

The visitor economy has been dramatically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, creating long term change and disruption to industry operations. To support industry recovery and resilience, this project will foster international collaboration by hosting three webinars that engage industry, community, government and education stakeholders in Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, together with other ASEAN countries.  


The webinars will be a platform to share knowledge on how to build a ‘new normal’ for the visitor economy supply chain, and how stronger leadership and digital transformation can support supply chain resilience. The project is funded by Australia-ASEAN Council, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australian Government and led by a team of researchers from Victoria University, Melbourne Dr Catherine Lou, Dr Joanne Pyke, Dr Thu-Huong Nguyen, collaborating with principal partners from Prince of Songkla University Assistant Professor Dr Nana BostanVictoria University Sunway Malaysia Maheswary Subramani Van Lang University Dr Thanh Le Minh, Victorian Government Study Melbourne Belinda Rimbo. 

 

Webinar 1 is to be held on 18 August 2022 at 12:30pm (AEST) and will explore: “How has the visitor economy supply chain been impacted by COVID-19?”. Industry and academic speakers will discuss the impacts of COVID on the visitor economy supply chain and recovery strategies. The webinar will be conducted in three parts: 

  1. Panel discussion on “How has the visitor economy supply chain been impacted by COVID-19”
  2. Breakout sessions on the topics (1) Skills, Labor and Business Capabilities, (2) MICE, (3) Digitalisation, (4) Empowering Leadership and (5) Transport & Aviation, with speakers from Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia to explore recovery strategies.
  3. The webinar will conclude with a networking session, where participants will meet people from Australia-ASEAN countries to connect and discuss potential collaborative opportunities.
