About CPP

Becoming a Certified Passenger Professional (CPP)

The CPP is a professional qualification that aims to provide a definitive standard for measuring capability and professionalism within the passenger transport profession.

The CPP brings together the breadth and depth of skills required of a modern passenger manager, planner, operator or public policy administrator. For passenger professionals, CPP can be considered by passenger business administrators, passenger support information technology professionals, transport economists etc

CPP status enhances your professional credibility within the industry and also enhances the profile of the passenger transport profession. The CPP programme is your career partner for life. With an extensive range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities to enhance your capability, you will be at the leading edge of the profession.

CPP status attests to your professional recognition by peers and employers, of your significant experience and knowledge to plan, implement, manage and improve the passenger and passenger support sectors. Valuable networking and activity opportunities are also offered to CPPs.

The success of your application entitles you to use the post-nominals CPP. These initials also signify your commitment to a code of professional conduct - ensuring the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

To qualify as a CPP, an applicant must have relevant working experience, qualifications, and active professional involvement in passenger transport management.

The overall process involves:

  1. Establishing that you have attained at least 400 points of combined experience, education and professional involvement;
  2. Agreeing to undertake at least 120 points of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity every three years following your initial accreditation. CPD is mapped against a series of capabilities and is a requirement to maintain your CPP post-nominals;
  3. Agreeing to abide by the profession’s code of conduct

Assessment for CPP status requires an application fee of $375.00 (incl GST).

Thereafter, the three-yearly review of your CPD activity, to maintain your accreditation, involves an administration fee of $AU110 (including GST).
