David Brown, Manager of Cruise Hunter, Newcastle Port Corporation has been nominated as the Australian entrant in the International Young Achiever Award.

Part of the National Award prize is a fully-paid trip to and from Malta to attend the International Council and International Young Members' Forum in May.

David's development of Cruise Hunter and his entrepreneurial approach to these developments were key issue in his National Award. Although the competition was strong, David was very humble in receiving his award a midst some outstanding finalists and incrediable young people which the T&L industry is very proud to have.

David was the Northern NSW Section Young Achiever of the Year. His award background at the National Awards was:

Manager of Cruise Hunter with the Newcastle Ports Corporation. David is responsible for the development and growing the local cruise shipping industry in Newcastle. He has achieved success in being a key person involved in coordinating cruise ships (and other visiting vessels) that are focused on marketing Newcastle and the surrounding Hunter region’s tourism experience to the international
cruise industry.

David has recently been appointed to Cruising Down Under’s advisory board and is the only person in Australia carrying out this unique port coordination and service task.
