CILTA CEO, Hal morris was interviewed by Chris Archer from IQPC Australia on the future of Australian supply chains and emerging trends. He was asked in particular how CILTA was responding to these changes.
The interview was focused on providing a institute persepective on the the challenges currently being faced within the chemical and plastics logistics industry. Hal discussed the issues surrounding the National Strategic level for the transport and logistics Industry.
Freight and transport logistics is the next frontier in the drive towards supply chain efficiency. It plays an important strategic role in the supply chain of all industry sectors especially in this case; the chemicals and plastics industries. The success of this sector is a key factor in the nation’s overall competitiveness and economic performance. The sector is the key link between trading partners nationwide.

And where is this being generated from, Government or EPA? - What’s the potential of the supply chain in delivering ‘real value’ successes to a company’s bottom line? - Flexibility, visibility and performance improvement are key elements of successful relationships – why is this so important throughout the entire chemical supply chain? - What have been the key focus areas for the institute in building partnerships with the industry? What progress has been made? - What are the future goals of the institute? - What issues surround the national transport and logistics industry – how is the institute responding to these?
